Frequently Asked Questions

  • Timemit is an AI screen recorder and personal work assistant designed to capture your screen and audio as you work. It turns your recorded activity into searchable timelines, transcripts, summaries, reports, answers, and action items.

  • Connect Timemit to your computer through USB-C and press the physical button to start recording. Press again to stop, or pause whenever you do not want something recorded. Your work history is organized in the Timemit app for later search and AI processing.

  • Timemit is designed to capture screen activity, meeting audio, microphone audio, and important moments from your work sessions. Available capture options may depend on your computer, operating system, permissions, and recording settings.

  • No. Recording is controlled by you. Use the physical button to start, pause, or stop recording, and check the LED status to confirm when Timemit is active.

  • The physical device gives you a clear, dedicated way to start and pause recording without searching through software menus. It also provides built-in local storage, a visible recording status, and a stronger separation between your work memory and your computer’s internal storage.

  • Timemit supports macOS and Windows systems.

  • Timemit is designed to connect to and receive power from your computer through USB-C, so it does not require separate charging during normal connected use.

  • Your Screen Timeline, audio, and related work history are stored locally on Timemit by default. This gives you direct access to your recorded work and greater control over your data.

  • Timemit is planned with 256GB of built-in storage. Depending on screen activity, capture settings, display resolution, audio usage, and daily recording time, this may hold approximately 12 to 24 months of typical work history.

  • No. It is an estimate based on typical use of around eight hours per day. Actual storage duration will vary based on how frequently the screen changes, recording quality, audio settings, resolution, and other usage conditions.

  • Core recording, local storage, and local playback are designed to work without a continuous internet connection. Internet access may be required for software updates, account services, transcription, and cloud-based AI features.

  • Your recordings and Screen Timeline are stored locally by default. When you choose to use certain AI features, selected content may be securely processed by cloud-based AI services. Timemit will clearly explain which information is being processed before these features are used.

  • Core recording, built-in storage, Screen Timeline, and local playback are planned to work without an AI subscription. Advanced features such as AI summaries, Ask Timemit, automated reports, and AI-generated action items will require an optional subscription.

  • Final subscription plans will be announced before the Kickstarter campaign. We currently expect AI plans to begin at approximately $9.99 per month, but pricing and usage limits may change before launch.
